South Texas is fertile ground for the game of baseball. With that in mind, the Corpus Christi Hooks decided to include within the Whataburger Field complex a regulation youth baseball field, Stripes Diamond, located behind the batter's eye in centerfield. 

Thanks to the combined efforts of the Hooks and Stripes, youth teams have the opportunity to play league games at Stripes Diamond prior to Hooks home games. The field is also utilized during Hooks games for activities such as wiffle-ball, batting practice and homerun derby.

Amenities of Stripes Diamond include a completely fenced playing field, covered dugouts, field lighting, LED scoreboard, bleachers, concessions and restrooms.

"There aren't too many parks that match what we have in terms of kids getting to play their games within the confines of a professional sporting facility," said Matt Hicks, Hooks Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations.
