School:  Northwestern University.  Hit .325 with 86 runs, 26 doubles, four triples, three home runs and 71 RBI’s in three seasons with the Wildcats.  Acquired:  Selected in 14th round of 2005 draft.  Career Highlights:  Scored a run in three at-bats… Hit .255-1-8 in 13 games for the Scottsdale Scorpions in Arizona this fall.  Named to the Carolina League Post-Season All-Star team last year, leading the circuit in hits and games; ranked second in at-bats and third in average and RBI’s.  Also tied for third in the league in doubles.  Led the Houston system in RBI’s and tied for third among Astros farmhands in batting average.  Named Salem’s Offensive Player of the Month in both April (.306-3-19) and June (.365-0-22, 8 doubles).  Carved out a 12-game road hitting streak, tied for third longest in the league, from June 12 to July 3.  Hit .438-1-13 during the streak.  Batted .327 with runners in scoring position.  In 2007, ranked second with Salem in at-bats, games and RBI’s.  Hit .338 in April, plating and scoring nine.  Blasted two of Salem’s three grand slams, and for the season batted .308 (4x13) with the bases loaded with 17 RBI’s.
