Acquired:  Signed as a non-drafted free agent in December, 2001.  Career Highlights:  Arguello’s 3.30 ERA ranked third in the Carolina League and fourth among Astros minor leaguers in 2008.  Tied with Polin Trinidad for first among Houston farmhands with 10 wins.  Was one of two CL pitchers to toss a pair of complete games, and threw the lone shutout for the Avalanche, holding Winston-Salem to two hits through seven innings May 31.  In addition to wins and ERA, led Salem in innings pitched and batting average against (.236).  Held opponents to three runs or less in 22 of his 27 appearances, and allowed just 5 home runs all season.  Enjoyed Salem’s Memorial Stadium, where he posted a record of 9-2 with a 2.44 ERA in 18 outings.  Named Salem’s Pitcher of the Month in July, when he went 4-2 with a 3.16 ERA, with 32 hits allowed in 37.0 innings.  In 2007 with Lexington, notched career highs in appearances, starts and strikeouts.
