Ryan Sanders Baseball CEO Reid Ryan announced in late August the promotion of Corpus Christi Hooks President J.J. Gottsch to Executive Vice President of Ryan Sanders Baseball.
Ryan Sanders Baseball is the owner/operator of the Hooks, the Double-A affiliate of the Houston Astros, and the Round Rock Express, the Triple-A affiliate of the Astros. Gottsch is the longest-tenured employee with Ryan Sanders Baseball and has played a key role in the development of both clubs.
As Executive Vice President, Gottsch is given the task of expanding the Ryan Sanders Baseball television package, growing new areas of business and expanding sponsor and civic relations in the Corpus Christi and Austin/Round Rock markets. He’s brought several marquee events to Round Rock and Corpus Christi. Portions of the movie “The Rookie” and TV show “The Simple Life 2” were filmed at the Dell Diamond as well as the Jim Rome “World Tour” in 2003. Gottsch worked with Director Michael Meredith on his upcoming film, "The Open Road," starring Justin Timberlake. Timberlake portrays fictional Hooks player Carlton Garrett, with portions of the film shot at Whataburger Field.
Gottsch sits on the steering committee for the National Sports Forum and has numerous relationships throughout the sports and entertainment world.
