A native of Corpus Christi and graduate of Ray High School, Lockard has been around baseball most of her life. She was raised in a family that is heavily involved in sports in the Coastal Bend. Her mother, Rose Garst, works for the Corpus Christi Parks and Recreation Department and her father, George Garst, is retired from CP&L and currently plays on several softball teams.

Lockard joined the Hooks in May 2004, after accumulating over 25 years of accounting experience. Her duties are that of a controller and full-charge bookkeeper for the club.

She is married to local home builder Kelly Lockard, and has two children, Sean and Amanda. Christy and Kelly have two beautiful granddaughters, Madison Rose and Alyssa Faith and a grandson, Ian. Lockard enjoys many hobbies such as playing softball, fishing, bowling and spending as much time outdoors as possible.
